Help for Local Admen

January 18, 2011

help for local admen. an interesting recruitment campaign by iris singapore. love the letters, especially how they poke fun at the various agencies! some of my faves from the letters:-

“As I’m relocating, I thought it an apt time to relocate my career. Granted, the relocation is only from Farrer Park to Jurong, but still, it’s a good enough reason.”

“I would like to thank you for all the great opportunities you have given me in resizing photos, designing staff birthday cards and art directing coupons.”

“I’m officially bored. So I am left with no choice but to officially resign. Effective immediately. There’s no much else to say really, except that I admire your ability to somehow work here.”

“I would like to say I appreciate the opportunities, the professional guidance and support that I have been given here, but let’s be honest, writing terms and conditions for 235 property ads is neither an opportunity or something to be appreciative of.

I wish you and the company success in the future (subject to terms & conditions).

Terms and conditions: I would only wish you all the best in the future if I gave a damn about you, your company and whatever else. I don’t.”

go on, hop over and check it out now. who knows, you may just make your best move ever.

2010 Advertising and Design Club of Canada (ADCC) Awards

November 11, 2010

i must admit, i do miss working in the agency. the work, the people, the diverse industries you get to work with.

i’m thinking of going back to work in the agency. being a client has its perks, but at the end of the day, i don’t find as much satisfaction here at all. this new opportunity will be based overseas and that itself sends thrills down my spine. not sure how things will pan out, but let’s see how it goes. i’m excited yet nervous with all the uncertainties in life right now. wish me all the luck!

this video shown here is the opening created for the 2010 Advertising and Design Club of Canada (ADCC) Awards. enjoy. 🙂

dtac: Disconnect to Connect

October 20, 2010

alright, i’m a slow poke at posting this. came across this a couple weeks back and got me thinking a bit…

we try to be active on social networks to “keep in touch” with our friends. but seriously, those who matter to us are probably within reach and there’s no need for any social network to be connected with them. a phone call, sms or even a visit would be enough. have we spent too much time trying to establish a connection with our friends such that we lost the ones we have with those who matter more?

send this to someone special and i think they’ll get the hint. 🙂

YOG Wave

August 30, 2010

Singapore was the host city for the inaugural Youth Olympics Games (YOG). If you were here during 14 to 26 Aug 2010, you would have seen some of the marketing materials that we have all over the country… and you would agree with me that some of them were sooo bad. (e.g. poor quality banners hanging on bright pink rafia strings) However, there’s always a silver lining and I must say, the online work was so much better!

I think this is a first in the world – Tribal DDB came up with a virtual stadium where users can do a “Tweetwave” for the Singapore Cubs playing their match against Montenegro for the football bronze medal.

Just tweet with the hashtag #yogwave and your Twitter avatar will appear in the virtual stadium at http://bit.ly/yogwave. Can you spot me? 🙂

Not sure if this site will be closed down soon, but this is a neat piece of work! Go check it out while you still can. 🙂

“The client didn’t want foreplay (setup for TVC), they just want to have sex (product story) and cum in 30s (30s TVC spot).”

From my dear ECD friend; on twitter. GOLD!
