out of the list of cannes lions winners, i like this best! thought it was really different from usual automobile advertising, and yet it brought out the functions of a honda car! artwork is pretty and imaginative too.

this is definitely an impactful, yet relevant choice of visual. i felt the message was hard hitting.

Text in the circle: Wet your finger and rub to find out what millions of women feel
After following the instructions, thanks to a special ink, the word NOTHING appears underneath.
Text back of card:
Over two million girls suffer genital mutilation every year. The AMAM association has very few members and strictly limited funds, for which reason it had to run a campaign with few resources but convincing, with a high profile. This is why a free postcard was chosen, to be distributed at strategic points where the target audience was to be found: arthouse cinemas, theatres, galleries, etc.

the HP ads prolly brought some glory back to the world of PCs. mac has been stealing the limelight and using a PC doesn’t seem cool anymore. but seeing the HP ad makes a PC user feel much better (well, at least i do.) always wanted to blog about this campaign and finally got the chance to do it!
the first tv ad that kicked off “The Computer is Personal Again” campaign:
after that, it slowly moved on to focus more on the hands:
by princess fiona!
by jay-z
by pharrell
by vera wang
by michel gondry
by mark cuban
by shaun white
if you’re interested to see how they filmed the ad, check this out:

try this out! upload your picture and instantly star in your own HP commercial!
initially, i thought “wow, this is one mega huge effort to create these print ads!” it was only when i googled on the illustrator, Thomas Broome, then i found out that the ad agency simply bought the visuals and plonk in the client’s name. but it’s still quite an interesting idea!
